One of my grandson’s told me, “You think that you know everything!”

At first, my feelings were hurt. But, then I rethought it, and decided that he was wrong.

I enjoy life, and am extremely inquisitive. I do not want to miss out on anything. Our teenagers, of 2006, may be smart, but many of them “can not think!”

Of course, that is a generalization, and doesn’t apply to all teenagers . . .

Teenagers of today communicate in nanoseconds, or what I call “20 second soundbytes.”

If you read my blogs, I have sstated and restated different things that have made my wife easier.

For instance, if I make mistakes, I try to figure out what I did —then try to solve the problem. Of course, there are problems out of our control. Storms, hurricanes, etc.

I hope that you read my blogs. There are thirty years or so of street psychology involved, and if young parents and others would teach their kids…..at an early age, their lives will be simpler and happier.

Schools should emphasize money handling. Along with that, they must zip into the 2000s. Our children are years behind children, of other countries.

Why do I say that? Because, we are educating our children to work in factories, fast food restaurants, at very low wages.

We should be teaching our children:

Of course, they must work to obtain money, but there are so many ways to earn HONEST money. Have our children been robbed of their dreams?

No!  But, we have not encouraged (nor have parents, teachers, church leaders and others HAVE NOT encouraged——-people to create their own businesses.

Read my blogs, and hopefully, you will find something to help you. Above all, single parents and others can discover how to help children, at an early age.

Money managing is nothing but a habit!

Relationships is like “basket weaving.”

Entrepreneurship could be their “dream.”

How to reduce stress. This could be taught in grade school and make lives of our children easier.

But, above all, each and everyhone—no matter what age the person is, they must know:

Themselves (habits, feelings, habits, etc)>

They must know their lifestyle:

Nutrition

Exercise

Mental Health

By the way, a wildflower seed is like a child.

Water, nourishment – then the seed becomes rooted. Not by burying it, but by walking over it.

Understanding power of attitudes, knowing that adversity does make you stronger. When it comes to stress, I use self hypnosim. It is simple. All you do is repeating what you want done. But, you repeat thousands of times. After that, it comes to you automatically!

I would add, that you can make the lives of your children better, if you practice what I write about. The most important things that children must be taught: how to manage money, develop a support system. And, of course, the more education you have, the better off you will be. As an adult, you must know your lifestyle.

Bad (negative) attitude

Is there a third attitude?

Of course not! But, I have been puzzled because most people do not understand how powerful attitudes are. Our daily lives are affected by the results of good and bad attitudes.

I realize now—that, if people would focus on word definitions of “good” and “bad” then they would understand that the blending of the definitions—–give us the power of atts.

I believe that violence could be reduced, if teenagers, young adults and other focused on attitudes.

Let’s look at some dictionary terms of
Good:

admirable
desirable
as It ought to be

well behaved
doing right
honorable
reliable
dependable
real
genuine
agreeable
pleasant
beneficial
advantageous

Many nonprofit groups have persons, who have dedicated their retirement years, and will spend long hours at these centers.

But, there are other ways to volunteer your services. I have labeled this: “Speed Volunteering.”

What is Speed Volunteering?

Speed volunteering is where you help others, but you do not have to dedicate long hours or days. Here are some examples:

An older man had trouble lifting a wheelchair out of the back of his car. Another man, walked by, saw the problem, and helped him pull the wheelchair from the trunk, sat it on the ground, and the man handled the problem from there.

In our small city, people automatically open doors for older people and others. This is politeness, and good manners. Often, it will bring a smile.

Ask a neighbor if they need something from the store. Is there an elderly person living near you? Ask them if you can drop them off at the senior center.

Is there a single parent living close? Offer to do something for that person. Invite them to the church, or let them know you are there to help them.

Is there a “struggling” family on your street?

Do you have clothing to give away?
Why not take clothing or furniture to a shelter? Why not give things to individuals, for instance, those who are homeless?

There is so much violence in our cities, can you help reduce crime? Can you get neighbors to a meeting and discuss problems?
Start a community group.

We are losing young people to alcohol and drugs. You and your group could discuss ways to handle these problems. Everyone wants to blame the parents. But, should not the communities be blamed also?

I hope that you have learned about caring, helping others, and that is what I mean by “speed volunteering.” You can help change the world!

As an adult, this support system can make lives happier.

My wife and I did not have a strong support system. Fathers were not in our lives. Our dear mothers were uneducated, poor and there was not a support system.

I am not talking just about financial help.
Emotional help. Security help. In order to make children safe, mentally help, etc–families need all the help they can get.

Single mothers and fathers need that support system more than others.

Baby sitters, emergency help, rides to schools, doctors and other places.

The support system has never been has not been written about, as far as I know!

Well, let us start now. A brother, sister, aunt, uncle, neighbor, etc. Do not hesitate to make out a “written plan.” Ask people to sign their names, and commit themselves to your children.

Relations can be compared to basket weaving. It is a slow, determined effort.

Maybe, there is just too much going on, that we can not focus on some important lifestyle features.
Then, at the age of eighteen, the child understands that he has been cheated out of some important instructions, on how to survive in this mean world!

I will just list a few. If you are interested, read some of my blogs. Understanding some of these things, I have become a happy person. Poor, but happy.

At the same time, I understand the ignorance of money handling has created difficulties in my life.

So, I guess I am bashing schools, ministers, churches, and others who have know that children need this information, as they are growing up. Then, they can leave home happy and knowledgeable.

Read my blogs. But, I will repeat my message.

Attitudes, understanding of. We spit out and have thrown at us, thousands a time in a 24 hour period. But, yet children and young adults do not understand “anything” about the power of attitudes~

What is the most important subject that should be taught 24/7 in our schools system?

The answer to that is easy: Handling Money. Understanding Money Management. Most of our children are ignorant (understatement)
when they leave public school system and some are still dumb when graduating from college.

So, we have handled “attitudes”, “money management”, what else is there that our mentors DID NOT teach us, so that we would be prepared for this mean world!

Stress. Teaching children how to reduce stress is easy. But, we do not do that.
We could reduce health hazards, simply, by teaching different methods of relaxation.

Communication. Speech classes in school could prepare students for the “real world.>”
Many children can not read, and even worse, is that they can not “talk.”

Let us change some of our school policies.
As a parent, you can make changes.

Synergism. Two people working together can result in more being accomplished.

I have spent a lifetime trying to understand the power of attitudes, adversity strengthens us and how to get peace of mind.

And, the one thing I want to teach others is that……..if you work with one person, synergism, you will accomplish more!

Wynoma Judd, recently titled a song, “Attitudes.”

Never heard it, but she also wrote a book about being depressed.

Her sister, Ashley is in the news now because she is depressed.

I recall that her Mother was from Ashland, Kentucky area and I do not know if she was married or not. But, she raised the girls.

Let’s get with it! Some people are born in wealthy families. ome are born in poor families.

Some families know how to knit close relationships. Most of us don’t have those skills.

I do not believe that we should look back on bad things, sad things, etc. Always look forward and close the door to the past.

Of course, it is not totally possible.

Especially, if you feel good having that pain in your head

Take life one day at a time. Taste it, smell it, and squeeze everything good out of it.

Ashley and her sister has earned money, and definitely ha skills. Singing, acting and

beauty.

They do not have to pay professional therapists. If they understood the power of attitudes, how to eliminate stress, they would not need therapy.

Money? If they understood my “speed dating” theory, they would give some money away and learn how to be happy.

Perhaps, that is the best way to be happy. It does not always mean “money.”

One woman is always telling me about her ”new car.”

I put my name on a singles thing on the internet.

The lady kept talking about her cadillac. I would have thought more of her, if she would have told me she had given money to the homeless, or helped out in a nursing home.

Git the pic? Don’t dwell on the past, nor about yourself.

I overheard one woman, say “It’s a family thing. Generations of people are used to welfare, and it just keeps going on.”

I wanted to argue the point. But, some people make up their minds, and won’t change.

But, I believe that it is more complicated than that woman stated.

Lack of education is part of the problem.
Many people are born in affluent families.

job layoff could be the problem. Mental health could be a person’s tragedy.
